After one year at University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the production Pericles at the prestigious famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and got the leading role. In 2002, Canadian reviewers praised her performance in 92 performances of Pericles. She accepted the invitation to join Stratford's conservatory, a program which allows just four men and eight females can attend a 20 weeks crash program in classical theatre. Her place was guaranteed in the next play as she was offered the part as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
